Any and all messages are welcome - spam, love notes, wrong numbers, creepy stalker heavy breathing, bomb threats, work problems, etc.
Because it is very rare that George wouldn't pick up her phone on the second ring, "action" phone convos can be acted out here as well.

And no, I really didn't have anything better to do than code a ridiculously complicated table for a post that probably won't get much use.

I hope nobody is planning on continuing the past few weekends' curses just for the heck of it, because I can tell you right now the police won't be tolerating innocent people getting involved in dangerous activity. I'm glad they're over, even if that stadium isn't gone yet. Nobody I know was hurt, right? I feel out of the loop, and that makes me nervous that something's going on that I don't know about.

Autumn. Time to dig all my warm clothes out of the other closet. It's always so beautiful, maybe because we just know it's going to end soon. Where I grew up winters were always cold and dark, nothing to look forward to.

[ooc: as a mun I am totally out of the loop, so just pretend that George totally knows what's going on because there is no excuse for her not to have been working away as per usual.]

Public Service Announcement: As with most curses that affect the entire city, it is highly recommended that individuals remain inside. If you need aid, you can either dial 911, leave a message on the Network, or make your way to the Police Force building. We will respond as quickly as possible, but common sense is the best way to stay safe. If you must travel, travel in groups and take a communicator of some sort with you.

Nicholas, Faye, Luke and Leia, Anita, and now Tosh and Tony? Jesus. I guess it bears reminding that none of us are going to be here forever. When death isn't permanent, it's hard not to think about people leaving the City in the same kind of terms as we would death back home. "Going to a better place". But the hope that you might see them again some time in the future almost makes it worse.

It makes it necessary that we don't get too stuck in the routine, don't forget the value of what we have here. It's almost enough to make even me cut back on the workaholic routine. Any of us could be gone tomorrow.

[Intel+Dept Heads Filter]
I won't be able to make it in to work today unless this fog clears up - two steps out the door and I have no idea where I am. Anybody with extra senses who can actually get around in this stuff should take extra patrol shifts to help out. It's situations like this that certain people like to take advantage of, not to mention the fog might not be the entire curse, just the part we know about.

Debra Morgan is joining us, so I expect everybody to welcome her and show her how we do things.

Hawkeye, anybody in the pipeline I should look into? Special Agent Fox Mulder has shown an interest in joining the police and I've put him into the process. He's a fictional television character in my world and I can vouch that he'd be an asset. Experience in the supernatural along with FBI training would be invaluable.

We've also lost another Head of Tech Intel. I'll start scouting again.

[ooc: so, uh, basically George's entire circle of friends have left the city aside from Riza, Tony, and Logan. De-pressing. ]

[outdoorsy sounds, a trawl in earth, birds chirping, dog barking]

Have to remember to go to the market Monday after work, there might be some end-of-season corn left. It's almost October, squashes will be in season. Hmmn, Halloween, there's a pretty good chance of a bad curse that night and it always attracts the crazies, got to mark it down for more patrols.

Gunner don't you dare dig those up - I just planted them. No! Bad dog! Yes, you heard me.

Should stop by the clinic and make an appointment some time soon too, just to make sure. Cervical cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, like Dad, not the way I want to go, but we don't get to pick.

Didn't expect it, couldn't handle it when it happened. Lucky it was just a curse, but still. Scars. And blood. Blood on my hands. Nearly threw up, that morning. Thought it was happening again, thought it was another nightmare, blood everywhere but no cuts. Other people's blood, that time. Faces, memories. Nothing I can do to stop it from happening again, to either me or someone else. Thank god for Logan, for his quick healing. He won't ever be blood on my hands. God, I hope not. Knock on wood.

[dog nose snuffling]

Alright, here's hoping these bulbs come up in the spring. Here's hoping I'll be here to see them. Seems like a long time to plan ahead here. Nice to work with my hands, though, to do something productive and simple and lacking in paperwork and bureaucracy...

Alright Gunner, time to go inside. Tired yet? Well, the sun's going down and you can't stay out all night. In you go.

[tidying up noises, fumbling and clanking of tools]

Hey, how did this get here? Damnit, of course with a curse like this it has to end up on the Network somehow...

[text]

Well, it's all true or else you'd know I was lying. That's a bit of a pain. Some things aren't meant to be said out loud.

It was a curse like this a few months after I arrived that made me admit to being attracted to Logan. It's a little strange, but I've always gotten in trouble for speaking out more often than I should than not speaking out often enough. Like that time... Heh. A good kind of trouble. Anyways.

Sam, if i remember correctly you own a garage? I have a car that desperately needs some fixing up. More like bodywork than any real engine work. Unless you're not too busy to do it yourself, Logan. Or you could work together on it, I don't mind. I trust you both to take good care of her.

[ooc: EDIT: After Mohinder's comment, the accidental voice post was filtered because the mun totally didn't notice the first time around. You can still comment and say you saw it before it was privated, but it's unlikely. And I totally forgot to mention, small text is things she wouldn't normally type, equal to strikeouts or privates on a normal day. She's more verbose at the same time.]

Well, I am now the proud owner of a '68 Ford Mustang GT. I refuse to have any kind of buyer's remorse over buying this car because 1 - we need a car, and 2 - I've always wanted this car. One of my best friends in high school was obsessed with Steve McQueen and made me watch Bullitt at least a dozen times with her. Now I'll admit that the Dodge Charger is a stronger, faster car, but you can't deny the sheer sex appeal of the Mustang. It needs a new paint job, new wheels, the body has some dents and rust showing, not to mention the interior is shit, but the engine purrs like a kitten. With any luck in a few months she'll be looking as good as she feels.

If I was a guy, you could call this a mid-life crisis, but thankfully women have no such thing.

I'm also bringing a friend home with me today. I don't know how well keeping a dog in the house will go, but no one else seems to want him and I know Nicholas wouldn't want him abandoned.

It seems like every time I take a nice weekend off, something bad happens. This is only the second or third time, of course, but it's still enough to make me suspicious. Things always seem to be even less of a coincidence in this city than anywhere else.

You're still a dick, but he liked you so I might as well try.

[Filtered to Palace/Styles Employees//unhackable]

Anybody heard from or seen Styles since Broklehurst left? We need to know if he's still going to be capable of handling the prosecution on the decapitation case.

[Intel Filter//unhackable]

This is just a reminder for everybody to keep police business within as narrow filters as possible.

The Warden would like us to monitor Walter Dornez's activities while he is on house arrest, so he is to check in twice a week with front-door security, us, and then the Warden. So please don't try to shoot him or something if he's in the building. I want his Network activity monitored if at all possible. If this all blows up in our faces it's going to be us cleaning up the aftermath, not the Warden, so no matter how idiotic his decision might be we've got to do our best by it.

[After leaving explicit notice that she wasn't to be contacted unless the City was about to be blown up, George had left the office yesterday with the full intention of relaxing at home, alone with Logan. Many people said that the six month mark was a time when you should judge whether a relationship is really going to continue or not, but it was easy for her to make that call. After that first night together she'd known that Logan was worth the effort.

So she sat curled up in a chair with a quilt and a cup of black tea and inhaled the distinctive smell of fall through the cracked-open window. A year ago she never would have seen herself like this, happy and comfortable, but here it was.]

When did Rose leave and where did she go home to?

What kind of kindness does the City show when it doesn't separate a mother from her child (or vice versa)? Or is it just a whim?

Captain Kuchiki: Are you handling the investigation of Ophelia's attack on Anita Blake?

Anita and/or friends of: How are you/she feeling?

When do you really know a relationship is going to last?

Why can't I tell him I love him? And why hasn't he said it to me?

I don't really expect an answer to any of my questions today, so feel free to ignore them if they aren't appropriate. I'm trying to avoid the insensitive ones, but it seems to be a part of the curse that some people be embarrassed. How often do you run into such a philosophical curse, though?

No shower, but I've got enough bottled water for a few cups of coffee. The sink's vanilla and the shower's chocolate. I'm just glad I tried to brush my teeth before getting in the shower for once.

September already. Another set of elections.

It was a pleasure working for you, Seras.

Christopher Styles will be prosecuting the case of the vampire Walter and his assistant Ise Nanao will be by Monday for the case files. Anybody who has any of the files with them, hand them over before then so I can collate everything before she gets here.

I won't be available next weekend, I'm taking some personal time, so if you need me for anything get in touch with me before then.

[ooc: Saturday is Logan & George's 6th month anniversary, hohoho~♥ At least I'm 90% sure I counted right. Since March 13th, anyways.]

I'm glad that curse is over. Although some people were obviously taken surprised by the curse, others were taking full advantage of it. If I manhandled anyone in the course of trying to make my way across the city unmolested I apologize, but I wasn't about to let someone slap me in the face for no good reason.

Logan: Faye is coming over for dinner, and you-know-who might be giving her a drive.

I was about to tell everybody to take a bit of a break now that this most recent case has been dealt with, but it doesn't look like we'd be so lucky. I've been informed that a couple of murders have taken place and we have been requested to look into the matter. I need someone to speak to other involved parties to co-ordinate and then I need someone to look into this guy's background and find out who should be involved in taking him on should such a thing occur.

[Private to Logan//unhackable]

Do we have a houseguest?

[ooc: links are ic. This is a bit last-minute, I shouldn't have even logged in, and probably won't be able to reply to comments until tomorrow night (if I'm lucky), but wanted to get this started before The Great Move-In. I don't have time to get in touch with the other muns involved in the plot right now, but if you have any opposition to police presence in this plot please just say so now, icly or oocly, and George'll back off. And I'm still on hiatus! Cheers~]

The house is covered in marinara sauce. The smell is everywhere, I don't think I'll be able to eat it for a long time after this. Better than the magma I was expecting, though. Small blessings.

I'm still not entirely sure what everyone found so amusing about me as a elderly woman, though I don't really remember much from that day. Hopefully I didn't embarrass myself too much.

[Police Filter//unhackable]

Anything to report? Monday morning I want everyone working on this case in the meeting room so we can pool knowledge; we're not getting very far working like this. That would include anyone from Spirit Activity working under Captain Kuchiki.

[ooc: Consider this a general plea to anyone who found a body to assume they did an interview with George immediately after the event. The character is much more on top of this plot than her mun is. >>; Also, to save everyone some hassle, assume the meeting as well. Any info you want to share with the rest of the team you can just do so oocly here or link or something. Sorry for my lack of leadership in this one guys, burnout's a bitch.

edit: SORRY FOR ANY TAGS I'M GOING TO DROP BUT I HAS NO TIME AND MUST PACK BEFORE LEAVING FOR UNIVERSITY. IF I GET INTERNET WHILE I'M AWAY I'LL TRY AND BACKDATE SOME TAGS BUT OTHERWISE... ilu all plz to be forgiving. :x]

Hmmm.

[cars, the sound of crowds passing by, definitely a street atmosphere]

Waking up here certainly was a surprise. I had always thought it was just a dream, if a particularly vivid one. The more I tried to think about it, the more holes appeared.

I'm very sorry I forgot.

[a thoughtful pause]

I think I've figured most of it out, but I'm afraid I won't be much help to the Police Force. With old age and retirement comes a whole host of physical problems I'm sure no one wants to hear about. The regular me will probably be back at midnight, of course.

That said, does anyone want to join an old lady for a cup of coffee?
